Everybody deserves a chance.
So the last creation assignment I choose to do involved photoshopping a picture to "change the mood" by adjusting the tone, hue, saturation, etc. Both of the photos I choose turned out a LOT creepier once I was finished editing them... take a look.
The second creation assignment i choose was taking a photo, removing the color, and adding the color back in to one single object. In this case I choose a photo from my trip to Cuba last year. I removed all of the color from the picture and then restored it only to my delicious coconut drink. cool hey ?! i used the website below and It was really really easy to use and of course free so that is always a bonus.
Tech task # 5 was to look through multiple creation assignments and choose 3. This is the first one I choose. The assignment was to create an A-Z collage using a theme. I choose the color GREEN.
Apple, Balloon, Celery, Dress, Eye, Frog, Grass, Hat, Ice cream, Jellybeans, Kiwi, Lime, Mint, Nails, Olive, Pepper, Quilt, RoughRiders, Snake, Turtle, Umbrella, Vine, Watermelon, Xylophone, Yarn and Zucchini. I used the website www.photovisi.com to create my collage - they make it SUPER easy and its free! click my photo to link there. This weekend we celebrated my Great Grandma's 95th Birthday She lives in Mervin SK - the booming community of 200 people. So we made the drive down and got to celebrate with her which was so much fun - it is always nice to get to see all of my extended family. She is in amazing condition for being 95 years old. her body is slowing down but her mind is still very sharp, she absolutely crushed me in a game of cards. She is an amazing and inspiring woman who lived all on her own until this year which to be seems remarkable. I am so thankful to have her in my life and to get to spend some time with her, her time that is left is so precious. Hopefully she is around for a many years to come. The photo I posted is from this weekend. She is wearing her new Blue Jays jersey, she is a HUGE fan. Never misses a game. talk about dedication. Just remember to be thankful for those around you and to spend time as much time with people you care about as you can because they are what really matters. 6 word story by Allysha Cody is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 Canada License This is my second "6 word story" and i choose a photo during our strenuous hike up grizzly peak in Kananaskis. It was an amazing adventure except we ended up getting lost because the trails were not clearly marked, so what started out and should have been a challenging 5 hour hike turned into a treacherous 8 hour climb. And even though it was a bit overwhelming we really pulled together and made the best out of our adventure, and got the opportunity to explore uncharted areas of this mountain. It was an amazing experience, even though it did not go as planned.
As an educator I have been thinking a lot about the importance of finding and focusing on students strengths - and helping them to showcase those abilities. Then I remembered this little commercial from my childhood that i used to love and thought i would share - anyone remember this? "Nobody's good at everything - but everybody's good at something" So here is to helping kids find "their thing" My thing is baking - I LOVE to bake, I would do it all day long if i could. Cookies, muffins, cupcakes, pies, you name it! I bake at least once a week. It is something I like to share with everyone - and I usually dont get any complaints ! Here are a few things I have baked lately (click to link to the recipe). What's YOUR thing?
6 word story by Allysha Cody is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 Canada License our tech task this week is to choose two photos and create a "6 word story" which is basically exactly how it sounds. This is a photo of my fiance and I a couple summers ago when we climbed our first mountain together and fell in love with the thrill and adventure of it all. We are BIG mountain lovers so this was a natural next step for us. It was an incredible experience and very empowering. I have never felt such a sense of accomplishment as i did that day. I truly felt like I was on top of the world on Ha Ling Peak at just over 8200 feet. Just for fun, here is a photo of the mountain from the ground.
